When Empathy Fails: My Story Of Suffering

This morning's experience left me feeling apprehensive about marriage πŸ€”πŸ’”. Not all men can be as caring and supportive as my father πŸ‘¨πŸ‘΄, and that's the harsh truth πŸ’”.

I live in a private hostel at my university πŸ«πŸ“š, where our daily routine is highly structured, much like a boarding secondary school πŸ“šπŸ‘¨‍🏫. Every Sunday morning, we attend a moral class at 8:00 AM sharp ⏰πŸ””. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to today's class because my menstrual period started overnight πŸŒƒπŸŒ™, and I was experiencing severe cramps πŸ€•πŸ€’.

All I could do was stay in my room πŸ›‹️🏠, trying to manage my pain and avoid drawing attention to myself πŸ™…‍♀️πŸ™ˆ. As expected, our teacher sent a student to check on me πŸ€”πŸ‘€. The teacher's message was, "Tell her to come upstairs right now" πŸ“£πŸ‘Š. I explained to the student that I couldn't attend the class due to my condition πŸ€’πŸ€•, but the teacher's response was insensitive and unsympathetic 😱😠.

I was shocked and hurt by his attitude 😒😭. Doesn't he know how women feel during their menstrual period? 🀷‍♀️πŸ™„ I felt sorry for his wife and children πŸ‘ͺπŸ‘«, wondering if he treats them with the same lack of empathy πŸ€”πŸ˜•.

Despite my discomfort πŸ€•πŸ€’, I went upstairs to the classroom πŸ«πŸ“š. I wanted to sit down πŸ›‹️πŸ‘€, but the teacher told me to come to the front of the class πŸ“’πŸ‘Š. I stood there for almost 30 minutes ⏰πŸ•’, feeling uneasy and self-conscious πŸ™…‍♀️πŸ™ˆ. The pain and discomfort became unbearable 🀯😡, and I had to leave the class to avoid embarrassing myself further 🚫😳.

Experiences like this make me fearful of marriage πŸ’”πŸ˜¨. How will my future husband treat me? πŸ€”πŸ‘« The teacher's behavior was brutal and inhumane 😀😠, and I feel sorry for his family πŸ‘ͺπŸ™.

I hope sharing my story will raise awareness about the importance of empathy and understanding πŸ€πŸ’–, especially towards women during their menstrual period πŸŒΈπŸ‘©‍🌾.

What sparked your initial interest in the Quran?  Quite a lot of things, first and foremost where my own parents, from their own relation and interest in it, and then my friends, some of my close friends at the beginning were either Huffadh, or those that were on their memorization journey also.
