HOW TO MAKE OJOJO (YAM BALLS)
Traditional ojojo. Here's a simplified recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 water yams 🥔
- Salt, to taste ❗️
- Vegetable oil for frying 💧
- Water for soaking 💧
Instructions:
1. Peel the water yams and grate them into a bowl 🥔.
2. Soak the grated water yam in water for about 30 minutes ⏰.
3. Drain the water and squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the grated water yam 💧.
4. Add a pinch of salt to the grated water yam and mix well ❗️.
5. Divide the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball ⛳️.
6. Flatten each ball slightly into a disk shape 🌮.
7. Heat a non-stick pan or frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil 🔥.
8. Fry the ojojo disks until they are golden brown and crispy 🍟.
9. Drain the ojojo on paper towels and serve hot 👌.
