PEPPER SOUP
Nigerian Pepper Soup Recipe π²π₯
Ingredients:
1. 1 pound of your preferred protein (chicken, beef, goat meat, or fish) π
2. 4-6 Scotch bonnet peppers (or substitute with habanero/jalapeΓ±o) π₯
3. 2 medium onions, chopped π
4. 2 cloves of garlic, minced π‘
5. 1 teaspoon of grated ginger πΏ
6. 1 tablespoon of ground cumin ❀️
7. 1 teaspoon of ground coriander ❀️
8. Salt and black pepper, to taste ❗️
9. 2 cups of water or broth π§
10. 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil π¦
Instructions:
1. Rinse the protein and cut into bite-sized pieces π.
2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat πͺ.
3. Add chopped onions and sautΓ© until translucent π .
4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; stir for 1 minute π‘.
5. Add Scotch bonnet peppers, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Stir well π₯.
6. Add protein and stir to coat with spice mixture π.
7. Add water or broth and bring to a boil π§.
8. Reduce heat to low and simmer until protein is tender (30-40 minutes) ⏰.
9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs (optional) πΏ.
Variations:
