PUFF PUFF RECIPE

Puff-Puff Recipe

Puff-puff is a classic Nigerian snack that's easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser 🤩. Here's a simple recipe to get you started:

Ingredients 🍲

- 2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar 🍮

- 1/2 teaspoon salt 💸

- 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast 🐟

- 1 cup lukewarm water ☕️

- Vegetable oil for frying ⛽️

- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional) 🍰

Instructions 📝

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt 🌾.

2. In a separate bowl, proof the yeast by mixing it with the lukewarm water ☕️. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy 🐟.

3. Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms 🌿.

4. Knead the batter for 5-10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth 🧘‍♀️.

5. Cover the batter with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until it has doubled in size ⏰.

6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat ⛽️.

7. Once the oil is hot, use a spoon to drop small balls of the batter into the oil 🥄.

8. Fry the puff-puff until they are golden brown and puffed up 🔥.

9. Remove the puff-puff from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil 🧹.

10. Dust the puff-puff with powdered sugar (if desired) and serve warm 🍰.

Tips 🤔

- Make sure the yeast is active and fresh, as this will affect the rise of the puff-puff 🐟.

- Don't overmix the batter, as this will make the puff-puff dense and heavy 🚫.

- Fry the puff-puff at the right temperature, as this will affect the texture and color of the finished product 🔥.

I hope you enjoy making and eating these delicious Nigerian treats! 😋
